Corporate TV at Philips:
P-CAST
In 2009 Philips Real Estate started the Work Place Innovation Project at its IT-offices at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. During the transition period a visible communication platform was required to inform employees about the changes in workplace and strategy.
Philips challenged Signips to create a working concept, to be enrolled within 10 days. We liked the challenge and succeeded within the timeframe. Corporate TV also met with Philips’ technical requirements and corporate content guidelines. The new channel was branded P-CAST and was visible in key social office areas, especially in the coffee corners and lounge areas. Those are the places used by employees to discuss the new WPI-concept and share their experiences.
P-CAST proved to be a key channel in change communication during the transition and contributed to correct and current information. It was highly appreciated by the employees, who started requesting other information to be made available on P-CAST. For example project managers, who struggled to get their message across. Next, IT communications managers also noticed P-CAST and requested a further development of the concept and content and it was linked to several internal (social) media and providing NPS data to be published on P-CAST. This boosted awareness and engagement and it eventually lead to P-CAST growth on the High Tech Campus and far beyond. Currently P-CAST is deployed in nine countries over three continents and expanding to sites all over the globe.
